Dr. Melvin Kohan founded IDC in 1989.  Prior to this, Dr. Kohan was Founder/Medical Director of The Florida Lighthouse, Comprehensive Care for HIV, Delray Beach, FL., from 1994-1998.  He is dual Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Infectious Disease.  He received his M.D. Degree from Brookdale Medical Center, University Medical School, Brooklyn, New York, from 1980 to 1981.  His internship was from the University of Connecticut, Hartford, Connecticut, from 1981 to 1982.  Dr. Kohan’s fellowship in Infectious Disease was from the University of Miami School of Medicine, Miami, FL. from 1984 to 1986.

Dr. Cesar Randich joined IDC in 1998.  He received his M.D. Degree in 1987, from Universidad Cayetano Heredia, Lima, Peru.  From 1987 to 1990, he was General Practitioner at Consultorio La Union and Clinica Anglo-Americana, Peru, which was in a rural hospital in northern Peruvian province (La Union, Piura), and afterwards, in a private hospital in Lima, Peru.  His Residency training and Infectious Disease Fellowship was from Wayne State University, Detroit, Michigan, from 1990-1995.  

Dr. Hamed Komaiha joined IDC in 1998.  He received his M.D. Degree in 1981, from Mansoura University, Egypt.  His Residency and training was from St. Lukes-Roosevelt Hospital, New York, New York, from 1991 to 1995.  His Fellowship in Infectious Diseases was from UC-Davis Medical Center, Sacramento, CA., from June, 1995 to June, 1997.

Dr. Jose Villalba joined IDC in 1999.  He received his M.D. Degree in 1989, from Universidad Autonoma de Guadalajara, Guadalajara, Mexico.  He received his 5th Pathway Degree in 1991, from New York Medical College.  His Internal Medicine and Infectious Disease Residency, and Fellowship, from Medical College of Georgia, Augusta, GA., from 1991 to 1996.

Dr. Indulekha Gopal joined IDC in 2005.  She received her M.D. Degree in 1995, from Medical College Trivandrum, Kerala, India.  Her Residency in Internal Medicine was from the University of Tennessee from 1998 to 2001.  Her Fellowship in Infectious Diseases was from Duke University Medical Center, Durham, N.C.

Dr. Sara Buchstein joined IDC in 2007.  She received her M.D. Degree in 1986, from the University of Miami School of Medicine, Miami, FL.  Her Residency and Internship was from Mount Sinai School of Medicine, New York, New York, from 1986 to 1989.  Her Fellowship was from SUNY Stony Brook, Stony Brook, New York, from 1989 to 1992.
